Bruner family at home

I am just really, really happy with how these turned out.

This type of session is my heart for family photography: preserving a particular season of life in your family. Don’t get me wrong, I treasure a solid photo of each member of my family looking at the camera, with all eyes open and smiling ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Believe me, I’m not knocking those (and you’ll notice there are several of those in here as well). But in a session where those photos are the main goals, the kids feel it. And some children resist it. But in a session where the main focus is being yourselves, in your safe space, doing the things y’all most enjoy doing together you gain so much more than a Christmas card photo. You gain tea party cheers and longboarding with dad and swinging from the backyard tree and baking cookies with mom. I will always, always treasure sessions like this one.

The parents, Emily + Shaun, are actually a past bride and groom of mine whose wedding I photographed years ago. I adored them as my bride and groom and I adore them as parents. I honestly just adore them as humans in general. Thank you, Bruners, for letting me document this season of waiting on baby brother for your precious family.

If you or someone you know is looking for an in-home, documentary family session in Savannah, GA (or Lowcountry) or in DFW, TX reach out to me via email (photo@jillianzamora.com) — I’d love to chat with you about your vision and how we can preserve this season of life for you too!
